Renold Ajax is located in Westfield, NY, USA. For more than 50 years the company has been designing and manufacturing custom gear spindles and gear couplings for the primary metals industry. The companies success can be attributed to innovations such as continuous circulating oil lubrication, roll end piloting and compound tooth curvature plus the heavy investment in state-of-the-art CNC machinery.
Renold Ajax is also the leading North American manufacturer of Traction Couplings for Subway Rail Cars, having produced more than 20,000 units over the past 35 years for use in many cities in the US, Singapore, Malaysia, Brazil, and Korea.
Renold Hi-Tec Couplings, located in Halifax, England, manufacture torsionally flexible couplings. The design of rubber-in-compression coupling was originally established in the 1940뭩 by Louis Croset whose son, Paul, went on to form the Holset Engineering Company with a business partner William Holmes in 1952. The couplings were a great success in the diesel engine market, and remain so today. Holset Engineering developed from the manufacture of couplings into a broader automotive supplier that is known for the manufacture of turbo chargers. In 1996 Renold acquired the Coupling business and have continued the investment and development in the product range. Renold Hi-Tec couplings are used in many demanding applications from Steel making to mining to Marine to power generation.
Renold Clutches and Couplings are located in Cardiff, Wales. The factory was originally established in 1947 and relocated to a new, purpose built facility in 1991.
